Sometimes I play out in the streets of Kyoto with Ben Schrager. He found a perfect spot, just near by a bus stop, so somehow people are kind of doomed to listen to us. It s very funny. Last time we played, a japanese cool chick took a picture of us with a polaroid camera, and then gave us the pic, as a souvenir. And another one gave us delicious cookies. It s fun to play in the street. I’ve always loved it and I hope I will always do.
I just received a funny email from Ben, and it reminded me of how much I used to love the Beatles, when I was younger. They taught me a lot of English.
Hey what’s up emi? this is ben. I’ve got a terrible confession to make. after you left, i played “lady madonna” by the beatles and pocketed 700 yen or so from old japanese women. the sun is going to start shining more and more here in kyoto. i’d love to play some with you outside on the street, especially when the cherry blossoms are out. it’ll be beautiful and the streets’ll be packed. i’d like to exchange some digital music and give you my cd too. all of these things! well, let me know where you’re at.
