When an attempt to do a list turns into rambling blabla

Cool things that happened in 2011

1. My record label manager & sweet friend was a dj in Cannes. Our record label is getting bigger & I love it.

Gloria’s interview in Cannes

She is the epitome of coolness & beauty :)

2. All the gigs & all the places & people I’ve seen.  Charlye the tornado / Tony Tandoori & I, we’re a great troop :) This makes my heart beat faster. I watch my friends getting married & having kids. So many people around me got married and are getting kids. I feel like a 5 years old watching the 10 years old shoplifting… I’m scared & at the same time I know this ain’t for me.
I’m not there.

I know that girl in Gothenburg, a lactose intolerant poet, Sara. I like her really much. Once in another life she had a love story with the songwriter & musician Jens Lekman. She’s the same Sara who Jens dedicated his first album to. He wrote an amazing song for her :

Tram # 7 to Heaven.

I woke up with this song in mind, and it made me long for Gothenburg so much.

If you understand swedish and like good poetry you have to check out Sara’s “Vi Måste Ha Protein” (Norstedts 2004). She released many other books since that one but her first tour de force remains my favorite one.

Anyway the song goes :

Did you take tram number seven to heaven?
Did you eat your banana from Seven Eleven?
I’m driving in my daddy’s car, life is aching in my heart
If we someday have to part, where do I go when you take
Tram number seven to heaven (…)

That tram was the one she had to take to go home, back in the days. She doesn’t live here anymore, it was a long time since they broke up. So many moons ago… Anyway, there is something extra cool with tram #7 in Gothenburg.  When it runs from Sahlgrenska down to the Botanical Gardens. It can be a breathtaking experience. The trees literally embrace the tram when it strolls down from the bridge into the lushness of Slottskogen. I miss Gothenburg. I miss my poet friend & Slottskogen, and Ayesha (the little kid in that videoclip :)

Milkymee / Screwdriver

I miss the trams, and the bouldery beaches. Waking up, making coffea & sandwiches, and take number 11 all the way to the sea.

Gothenburg, my dirty old town, I promise I ll visit you soon.

Oh, and yesterday an amazing woman played a uke version of Que sera sera on a terrasse in Paris and it was a very magical moment I will try not to forget.
