MILKYMEE
Milkymee (de son vrai nom Émilie Hanak) est une artiste française.
Actuellement, elle vit et travaille à Paris.
Entre 2002 et 2009, elle trouve refuge sur une petite île au large des côtes suédoises où elle compose son premier album.
En 2006, Milkymee sort Songs for Herr Nicke, un premier opus dont elle a composé, écrit et interprété tous les morceaux. Cet album allie, comme par contraste, des mélodies et arrangements voluptueux, enjoués, presque immatériels et l’incroyable voix de Milkymee, intime et puissante à la fois, qui chante des textes presque crus.
Cet album est sorti sur le label Tsunami-Addiction.
Après avoir mené en Suède une vie d’anachorète – à écrire, à écrire, à écrire – elle retourne en France.
En 2010, sort son deuxième album To all the Ladies in the Place, With Style and Grace, nommé ainsi d’après un morceau de Notorious B.I.G. Cet album est dédié à sa mère, à la poétesse américaine Valérie Solanas, la fille d’à côté, sa première amie d’enfance Nathalie Brown, sa petite amie, Lilo et toutes les femmes qu’elle aime ou qu’elle déteste.
Cet album est sorti le 25 janvier 2010, sur le label Tsunami-Addiction.

Depuis ses débuts, Milkymee participe à de nombreuses collaborations avec des artistes comme Hypo et Zoé Wolf (The Konki Duet), mais aussi le cinéaste Patric Chiha.
En 2009, elle compose la musique originale de Domaine, un film de Patric Chiha, avec Béatrice Dalle et Isaïe Sultan, produit par Aurora Films.
La première mondiale de Domaine a eu lieu à la Mostra de Venise 2009.
La sortie de Domaine en France est prévue en avril 2010.
SYNOPSIS
Pierre, un adolescent de 17 ans, passe tout son temps avec Nadia, une mathématicienne flamboyante d’une quarantaine d’années. Leur relation est amicale, ambiguë, presque amoureuse. L’anarchie qui règne dans la vie de Nadia fascine ce jeune homme au seuil de l’âge adulte. Mais Nadia est une femme blessée, dépendante de l’alcool. Petit à petit elle s’abandonne. Pierre pense pouvoir l’aider, la retenir…

Début 2010, Milkymee est lauréate de la prestigieuse Villa Kujoyama au Japon (un programme de CulturesFrance). Elle résidera pendant 6 mois à Kyoto pour y écrire et composer, en collaboration avec des artistes et musiciens japonais, son troisième album.

Emilie Hanak is the sweet songwriting talent behind Milkymee, an ever-evolving and unpolished French artist based in Paris.
For the past 7 years (2002-2009), she was living in Sweden where she has composed her first album.
In 2006, Milkymee put out Songs For Herr Nicke, an excellent although intimate record on Tsunami-Addiction.
While Milkymee’s voice combines raw intimacy and chalky confidence, her melodies and arrangements are both voluptuous and ethereal.
After many years spent in the wilderness travelling throughout Europe and writing good songs, Emilie Hanak is now back in France for a while.
Her second opus, To all the Ladies in the Place, With Style and Grace, – named after a Notorious B.I.G track – is an EP dedicated to a series of female figures close to her heart: her mother, the American radical feminist Valerie Solanas, the girl next door, her childhood lost friend Nathalie Brown, her friend Marie-Astrid Michel, her girlfriend, and other women she likes or dislikes.

In 2009, she has composed and written the original soundtrack for Domaine, a feature film by Patric Chiha, starring Béatrice Dalle and Isaïe Sultan. Domaine was part of the Official Selection of the 2009 Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica, Venice, Italy.
The film plot:
Pierre, a teen of 17, spends all his time with Nadia, a flamboyant mathematician in her forties. Their rapport is friendly, ambiguous, bordering on amorous. The anarchy that reigns in Nadia’s life fascinates this young man on the threshold of adulthood. But Nadia is a wounded soul, dependent on alcohol. Little by little, she slips away. Pierre thinks he can help her, bring her back from the brink…

Between January and April 2010 Milkymee will be living in Kyoto, Japan, as an artist in residence for the Villa Kujoyama program, selected by CulturesFrance (French Ministry of culture), also known as the « Oriental Villa Médicis. She will write and compose her third album there, looking forward to many collaborations with Japanese musicians, and exploring their traditional instruments.
